Good Books on System Integration?

I have been looking for a good book on system integration. I asked the question around, posted a discussion in Linkedin groups, and searched the Internet; but I did not find a satisfying one. If you have one to recommend, please let me know (or just comment this blog entry). Thanks!

  1. Dr. Zheng,

There is a good (and free) book on Books 24x7, available through the GSU library website. It is called: Enterprise Integration: An Architecture for Enterprise Application and Systems Integration. It is 468 pages and was published in 2002 (old I know, but it still seems relevant to me).

It can also be found on Amazon, where it has received good reviews: http://www.amazon.com/Enterprise-Integration-Architecture-Application-Systems/dp/0471400106/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1253282487&sr=8-1

The table of contents is as follows:
Chapter 1 - Assessing the Technology Landscape
Chapter 2 - Setting Enterprise Integration Design Objectives
Chapter 3 - Defining the Enterprise Architecture
Chapter 4 - Establishing the Enterprise Infrastructure
Chapter 5 - Creating a Business System Domain
Chapter 6 - Providing the Messaging Infrastructure
Chapter 7 - Integrating Workflow Management
    Chapter 8 - Providing Web-Based User Access
Chapter 9 - Integrating with XML
Chapter 10 - Using Component Technology
Chapter 11 - Ensuring Enterprise System Security
Chapter 12 - Supporting Enterprise Intelligence
Chapter 13 - Implementing the Architecture

Hope this helps, let me know what you think.

  2. Michael, maybe I should have listed this one. Instead I chose the other "Wiley A Tech Brief" one. Thanks for mentioning it. In addition, I just got a book to review, which is by Linthicum, "Next Generation Application Integration". It looks good but not in book24x7.
